More than 20 years of experience advising on contractual, regulatory, corporate, finance and M&A matters in infrastructure and energy sectors, at an international level. Specialized in Project Finance, public works, concessions and Public-Private Partnerships (PPP), having worked in the development of more than 30 projects in the United States, Brazil, Colombia, Peru, Chile, Uruguay, Paraguay and Argentina. After having served as Regional Legal Counsel in the Swedish Skanska group, at the end of 2014 Martín joined BKM as partner in charge of the Infrastructure area, advising prestigious companies locally and internationally in the financing of projects in the areas of transportation, energy, sanitation, among others.
Among other works, he has carried out the first PPP tendered, for the expansion and duplication of Routes 2 and 7 and its hybrid financing via international bonds (Reg 144A / Reg S) structured by Goldman Sachs and Itau for an amount of USD 450 million, plus a loan from IDB Invest for USD 200 million and a bridge loan of USD 50 million with local (short-term) banks. He also advised in obtaining financing (international and local) to the Bioceánico Road Corridor Consortium in charge of the “Loma Plata - Carmelo Peralta project”, tendered as “Turnkey” or Design Build Finance (german system), and it’s financing included an international project bond issuance (first one in Paraguayan history) structured by UBS in the amount of USD 730 million (zero coupon), and a revolving credit line of up to USD 45 million with 4 local banks.
In turn, he has worked in more than 15 M&A operations in the infrastructure, financial and fuel sectors.
