BSBIOS Indústria e Comércio Biodiesel Sul Brasil S/A, the largest biodiesel producer in Brazil and sponsor of the Omega Green project in Paraguay, signed an agreement on January 5th to acquire the shares of the Paraguayan companies Agroindustrial La Paloma S.A. and Biosinergy S.A., both located in the city of La Paloma del Espíritu Santo, Canindeyú department.
BSBIOS engages in industrial activity by producing biofuels (HVO, SPK, and NAPHTA) derived from vegetable oils and animal fats. Agroindustrial La Paloma is dedicated to the processing and industrialization of soy, obtaining flour, oils, and derivatives, while Biosinergy is involved in the production and commercialization of biodiesel.
The BKM | Berkemeyer team, led by managing partner Hugo T. Berkemeyer and partner Manuel Arias, with the significant participation of senior associates Andres Nasser and Alvaro Rojas, and associate Gaston Segovia, advised BSBIOS in drafting and reviewing all contracts and agreements, as well as in corporate, environmental, regulatory, and labor matters, in the process of acquiring the shares of shareholders Darci Ricadi, Massimiliano Corsi, and Sidney Wedderhoff, who will continue to work closely with BSBIOS to ensure an optimal transition and provide support to local producers.
With this transaction, BSBIOS doubles down on its investment in Paraguay by diversifying its businesses and seeking to boost the productive sector in the region and our country, a sector it recognizes as crucial for the development and support of the industry.
BKM | Berkemeyer appreciates the trust placed by BSBIOS and congratulates all the teams involved in the operation, hoping to continue contributing to ventures that entail significant benefits and growth for the entire country.
